Post subject:  Outlook 2010 search problem since installing easy mail merge

Not sure what happened, but after installing the demo version for testing on my Outlook 2101, Windows7 x64 Pro laptop, the search engine has reverted to a pre-2010 version. It now opens in what looks like advanced mode and under options>search it now says I need to upgrade search. Then link takes me to a VISTA 64 version of search.

I am pretty frustrated that an add-inn to Outlook has hijacked my system. How can I fix this? If I uninstall the .COM, will it also revert my search to the proper version?

This isn't making feel real good about buying the product!

Hello,

I'm sorry, but I really, really don't think EMM caused this... it really can't do that, so there may be something wrong with your Outlook installation. I have actually never heard of an issue such as this, so please try repairing Outlook by going to Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> in the newly-opened window, right click MS Office 2010 -> choose the Change function (not the Uninstall one) -> choose the Repair option, then follow the steps displayed.

You can uninstall EMM by going to Start - All Programs - DS Development - Easy Mail Merge and choosing the Uninstall option, bu t I don't think that will help.

Please inform us of your findings, we are looking forward to your reply.

When I rebooted, the problem went away. It was really strange that it happened right after installing the demo, but it did clear up after a reboot. (Guess I should have tried that first).
