I am using a CSV formated source file and it includes columns that I will use for dollar values. They look like "5.75", "5.50", etc.

Sample first two lines: email addresses and company names changed to fakes:
Security Company,Advantage Plan Member,NULL,NULL,Associate,Silver,NULL,10.95,7.45,5.95,10,10,10,NULL,NULL,June,0,6,8,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,1,NULL

Mail merge is properly displaying some of them, but others it is displaying "5.7500000000002" instead of "5.75".

Can I control the number format? If not, what's wrong?

Windows XP, Outlook 2007. Most recent EMMforOutlook.

In order to properly solve your problem, please send us a copy of the csv file that you are trying to use so we can make some tests and see what exactly went wrong.
