I have downloaded this program and started Outlook 2003.
An Error message is appeared: FAILED TO INITIALISE COMPONENT EXIT CODE-1.

And Easy Mail Merge toolbar is not in the outlook toolbar.
An earlyer version worked before.

I have Windows XP

How can use this program?

I am having the same issue with MS Outlook 2003. This is a new problem for me. I have recently updated my Anti-Virus (Zone Alarm) but I have assigned Easy Mail Merge with full trust and access. Zone alarm uses sonic

I get the Easy Mail Merge tips but there is no toolbar. I've run a repair installation and that didn't correct the issue.

I've checked the disabled add-ons in outlook and EasyMailMerge is not listed.

In my case, EMMOpts.exe is not running in the process tab while Outlook is running (or any other time).

I've become a bit addicted to EMM so please let me know how to fix this.

Thanks,

Hi speed66,

Please check if you have EMM installed on your computer.
If not download it again from http://www.emailaddressmanager.com/mail_merge.html

Also it might be possibe that Outlook disabled Easy Mail Merge.
If you are using Outlook 2000, 2002 or 2003, you can re-enable Easy Mail Merge by going to your Outlook Help menu -> About Microsoft Office Outlook -> Disabled Items. See if EasyMailMerge is listed there. If it is, select it, then click on the Enable button, then restart Outlook.

If you are using Outlook 2007, please go to the Outlook Tools menu -> Trust Center -> click on Addins on the left sided panel. See if Easy Mail Merge is listed under the Inactive or Disabled Items section. If it’s listed under the Disabled Items section, choose “Manage Disabled Items” from the bottom part of the window, click on “Go”, then select Easy Mail Merge on the popup list and choose to Enable it. Then restart Outlook.

Kind Regards,
Andrew Smith

I do have EMM installed and I continue to get the tips at Outlook's start up (Outlook 2003).

I have checked the disabled items and EMM is not included in the list.

I downloaded EMM and installed again using the "repair" installation option but the result is the same.

What next?

Hi Speed66,

The tips you can disable if you disable the option " Show tips on startup".
Also please try to uninstall the program and install it again without using the repair option.

Kind Regards,
