Hi,

I've recently downloaded a trial version of Easy Mail Merge to evaluate if it can help me perform a specific function : As part of a mail merge, I need to insert a custom hyperlink for each mailing. Most importantly however, I need the hyperlink to appear like this:

And NOT like this:
http://www.hotmail.com

Can Easy Mail Merge help me achieve this? If so, how? Lets assume the text I want to hyperlink is "Click here to download" and the field in the CSV file that contains the custom hyperlink is "Custom_Link".

Appreciate your help, Thanks.

Hi thandamilk,

In order to insert the hiperlink after starting the Mail Merge process, select Insert-> Hiperlink from Outlook toolbar menu.

Kind Regards,

Andrew,

Thank for your response. I should have made my question more specific however. Here is what I want to achieve:

Say the email is being sent to a set of 50 people. Each individual has a unique lead ID, say staring from user1 to user50. Through the mail merge process I want to send a unique, custom hyperlink to each recepient. For instance,

Hyperlink for User1 - http://www.yourdomain.com/folder/test.aspx?leadID=user1
Hyperlink for User2 - http://www.yourdomain.com/folder/test.aspx?leadID=user2
...

Now, rather than have this URL show up in full, I want specific text in the email to be linked to the unique hyperlink for that user. For our example lets assume that text to be "click here to view your profile".

Using the insert hyperlink process I can insert the SAME hyperlink for all recepients. I see no option on how to include a merge field in the hyperlink.

Please help.

Probably a bit late replying but I had the same problem and got round it by using a CSV/Excel input file.

Taking your example I had two columns in the Excel input file:
Column 1 - contained all the user IDs
Column 2 - Contained the common URL - i.e. http://www.yourdomain.com/folder/test.aspx?leadID=

I then created a third column and used the CONCATENATE function to merge the two fields together to create a unique URL.

I then used the concatenated column as input in the mail merge.

If you prefix the concatenated URL with the HTML code <a href=" and then suffix it with ">Whateveryouwanthere</a>" then you can have just the hypertext anchor text shown in the email which looks more professional.
