I have a list of contact records about 300 people long. I have one field that has an Account ID. This id can either be all numbers or numbers and alpha characters. Its seems that when I do the mail merge this data source field gets pulled into the email correctly using the variable text options until it gets to a record that has both numerical and alpha characters (i.e. 12-A45FS). The source field for the rest of the records just defaults to the last numerical record in the list instead of pulling the correct Account ID for the email address that it is in the same record of. Not sure what the problem is.

Can you please tell us if you use the contacts from a CSV file? If you use a CSV file please make sure that the CSV file is correctly formatted (for example one row might not have ";" at the end).
If you use contacts from Outlook contacts please try to export these contacts as a CSV file and import that file with easy mail merge and check if you still have the same problem.
