Dear Support,

Just installed 4.0. It is crashing Outlook upon startup every time. Earlier version of software was not doing this. Please advise.

When Outlook crashes, does it present you with any error (and if yes, what does it state)? Please also include all info that you consider helpful in replicating your issue – what are you doing before, what other add-ins you have installed etc.

Error occurs as Outlook starts. It will keep occuring during each restart. Removing the Bells and Whistles plugin resolves the issue. Reinstalling Bells and Whistles causes the problem once again. The addins I am using:

Salesforce.com Plugin
Xobni Pro Plugin (This is the new version)
Snagit Plugin
Norton 360 Antivirus Plugin
Evernote 4 Plugin

I am running Windows XP and Outlook 2007.

The error message is:
"Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Please note that the earlier version of Bells and Whistles worked just fine with these plugins. It is only version 4.0 that is causing this issue.

i experienced this exact problem - and i am running a totally different set up.

i fixed it by running the included add-in utility and selecting the restore B&W defaults button.

i think it is related to installing version 4 on a pc where version 3 was installed and not entering the licence key immediately

you will find it in your all programs list. (it is a stand alone program that is packaged with B&W)
close outlook first, then run this utility.

start up
all programs
ds development folder
outlook add-in utility

Not sure we have the same problem but using Exchange server 2010 and outlook 2010 windows server 2008 all B&W programs freeze as soon as you accept the OK button for the tip window that appears if licenced or the try now if on trial

Try "end tree" Task Manager BWopts.exe then Outlook opens very quickly without freezing. Addin Zobni also flies!!!!!

Works for me hope this helps others :D
