it does work when logged in via system administrator account
it seems some sort of permission issue
no additional info in event viewer
it also works when a new user is created

Can you please advise what are the restrictions of your Windows account? It should work fine with non-admin accounts, but it really depends on how restricted the account is...

as stated above
"logged in as a user with admin rights"

iam logged in as a administrator

based on my diagnostic problem resides with this particular window user or outlook profile

so what are the files to check that would result in "Failed to insert text" error

what files are being accessed when text is writing
any registry info for this user account to be checked

also unable to make clean uninstall see other thread

When you create a text template, Bells & Whistles saves it as a html template in the following folder: C:\Document and Settings\YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME\AppData\Roaming\DS Development\bw\HTML Templates

In order to reset your B&W setup, you have to erase the HTMLTemplates folder AND the options.xml file located in the bw folder from above. There is no need to erase any registry entries, as the settings/templates are saved to disk, not to the registry...

Was it solved by erasing/reseting the text templates & options or else?

it was determined that
"Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin" must be enabled.

can be found under "COM Add-Ins" or enable via tool provided withyour software.

I had the same issue, both text templates and the automated greeting would not insert into emails. The fix was the same, enabling Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin fixed the issue. Occasionally still get a failed to insert template, document was locked for editing, but clicking insert again will complete the insert.

Thanks!
