Hi Bogden and others,

My message is a request for a further change to the placement of the timestamp.

At the moment, I use B&W's automatic greeting and timetastamp, and Outlook's signature. The following example shows what I get when I hit the Reply button.

[1]Hi Ebay,
[2]
[3] [ <-- cursor is here ]
[4]
[5]26/02/2007 14:18:28
[6]
[7]
[8]--Greg

Line 1 is B&W's. Lines 2 and 3 are probably Outlook's. Line 5 is B&W's and I'm guessing line 4 is as well. Lines 6 and 7 may be B&W's. Line 8 is the first line of my Outlook signature file.

What I'd like to have is:

[1]26/02/2007 14:18:28
[2]Hi Ebay,
[3]
[4] [ <-- cursor is here ]
[5]--Greg

This is how I would like my reply messages to look before I type anything. It could be achieved as follows:

[1-Timestamp inserted without following blank line]
[2-Greeting inserted without following blank line]
[3-inserted by Outlook]
[4-inserted by Outlook; cursor positioned here by Outlook]
[5-inserted by Outlook if user has specified signature option]

This requires timestamp to be inserted before greeting - currently, it is the other way around. An option on the 'Other' tab could be used to specify Timestamp before Greeting.

This will not have a detrimental affect on new messages. What currently happens is:

[1]
[2]
[3]26/02/2007 14:30:25
[4]
[5]--Greg

Lines 1 and 2 I assume are inserted by Outlook. Lines 3 and 4 are inserted by B&W. Line 5 is first line from Outlook signature file. It's curious that there does not seem to be two blank lines after the timestamp as there are in the Reply message.

If timestamp is inserted before the message body (as greeting currently is) then the result would probably be:

[1]26/02/2007 14:30:25
[2]
[3]
[4]--Greg

Responsibility for each line is as follows:

[1-B&W]
[2-Outlook]
[3-Outlook]
[4-Outlook signature file]
