Post subject:  Set account from which emails will be sent

I am using Outlook 07 on Exchange server 07 and have an exchange account. I created another user named mailto:Do_Not_Reply@domain.com and I have send from permissions. I can create an email and use Do_Not_Reply to send mail and it will deliver successfully.

How can I tell Auto Reply Manager to use this user? When I drop down the control the only account present is my default Exchange account. I would prefer not adding another account. Is their a registry entry I could do?

Hi Rick,

You do not have the possibility to tell Auto Reply Manager to use an account without being registered.
Auto Reply Manager uses Outlook resources when sending a reply and it can not operate as an independent program.

To wrap this up. Outlook only allows one exchange account so I created a new Exchange user called Do_Not_Reply and added it as a pop3 account - ARM now had the account in drop down and sends as DNR user - all is well. Since we use Outlook in Cache mode I made sure that I do not sync with that account.

FYI: for added benefit I set up a server side rule that any mail to DNR is automatically deleted - Even though no one checks that account I did not want it to balloon out of site.
