Post subject:  HTML reply message

We created an html reply template, we made a mistake on it & deleted it, & we created a new html reply template. However when we receive auto responses, both templates are reflected on the response email. How can we truly delete the first html template from being included in the response email. Any thoughts, thanks.

Please follow these steps (you will delete BOTH the template and the rule):

1. delete the existing auto-reply rule (from the Edit Rules button of the ARM toolbar);
2. exit Outlook;
3. make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders;
4. go to the AppData folder of your Windows account, then browse to DS Development -> Auto Reply Manager. For example, on Windows Vista, the full path is C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\DS Development\AutoReplyManager\HTMLTemplates - where "Administrator" is your Windows login name.
5. delete the HTML files from the HTMLTemplates folder;
6. restart Outlook.

If you can't find the HTMLTemplates path, do a search on your computer for a folder called HTMLTemplates.

Again, following these steps you will delete not just the template, but the rule too.

Thanks Bogdan for your reply. We have done as you instructed to no avail. We also uninstalled & re-installed, & we even installed on another computer in our office that never had this program or the html template, yet the template still shows up. Is it possible that the html template is on your server & maybe needs to be deleted from there, please advise.

Ok, please clarify: did you create a new template or did you use one of the predefined templates from our server? I thought you created a new one... If not, please try by creating a new template from scratch, not by importing a predefined one and using that one.

We created a html template from scratch & pasted into the message body area , we did not use one of the predifined templates. Again as previously noted, we even installed this program on another one of our computers that never had it previously installed nor didn't have that html template that we are trying to delete. But the html template still showed up when we tried the automated response email. With that in mind & because the program & html template was never installed on this different computer, how could it show there, except it is on somebody's server somewhere. Please advise, thanks.

For sure, user defined templates are NOT stored on any server, except the local computer where the template was defined. So it is really strange that the template was displayed on the second computer...

If you don't use a HTML template, but a simple text on the reply template, does it work better?

No it doesn't work, we have tried that as well. We used a simple text message, & the original template that we are trying to get rid of still shows up with the text message reply. We've tried everything, uninstall & re-install, we've installed on a different computer with a text message only, don't know what else to do. I agree this is strange, & also is frustrating. What can we do to get rid of that demon template?

1. When you edit the reply rule, do you see that weird/original template or the good one? If the original template is displayed, can you please make a screenshot and post it here? Or email it to mailto:support@emailaddressmanager.com
2. if you create 4 auto-reply rules, is that original template inserted in ALL of them?

Hi Bogdan. Is there a way we can fix this issue. If not we would like to get a refund, as we are well within the 30 day period. Please advise when you have time, thanks.

Our programming team is studying the reported problem, I shall email you as soon as we have a resolution. Don't worry about the 30 days period, on such cases a refund request can be processed no matter what.
