Starting with an Excel file with the zip code field formatted as "text" when I import the file, I can see the zeros in a zip code like "04106" But after merging and then outputting the file, and opening the file up, the lead zero has been deleted. "04106" becomes "4106" I need to load this zip file into a zip-plotting map software, so re-formatting as "zip code" or "Zip code + 4" doesn't help. How can I keep my zip codes intact?

1. Try saving the file as a CSV file, then import it to Quicklist;
2. Where do you see the ZIP codes displayed without the leading "0"? In Quicklist or in Excel? If it's Excel and the file is CSV, can try opening it with Wordpad and see if the zeros are displayed correctly?

Thanks for getting back to me. I've tried saving as a CSV and TXT file, and then importing. Same thing happens. I can see the leading zeros in Quicklist. It's when I export the file that they're truncated. In Excel or Word (opening the text file) the leading zeros just aren't there...my guess is because somehow in the export, the cell contents are being treated as numbers rather than text. Since "04106" isn't a number, it gets written as "4106." Any ideas?
