Having viewed a previous post, I followed these instructions after completely uninstalling the product:

    Try this alternative solution:
    1. make sure Outlook is NOT running. Also make sure you are logged on to Windows via an Administrator account;
    2. download the latest Bells & Whistles trial setup from our web site (see http://www.emailaddressmanager.com/download.html);
    3. install the trial version (it will automatically pickup your activated license, so it shall switch to the full/registered version). When you start the install, you will be asked if you want to update or uninstall Bells & Whistles: choose to update;
    4. restart Outlook.

The first time Outlook starts up, after installing v3.0.178, I get this message:

    Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.
    Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client.

When I exit Outlook and restart it, I get the previous message plus the two more messages:

    Outlook experienced a serious problem with the 'bells and whistles' add-in. If you have seen this message
    multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you
    want to disable this add-in?

and then after clicking No I get the following:

    Failed to initialize Microsoft Outlook MAPI. Initialization failed.
    Error code 0x80004005.

B&W was working when I was using Outlook 2003 but since I upgraded to 2007 it has failed to install or initialize properly.

Here's the technical info:

    Microsoft® Office Outlook® 2007 (12.0.6514.5000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000)
    Microsoft Windows XP Professional
    Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600
    2 GB RAM

...and the list of add-ins:

    Active Application Add-ins
      Bells and Whistles
      "C:\...\Bells and Whistles for Outlook\BWAddin.dll"

      iTunes Out
      C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesOutlookAddIn.dll

      Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service
      C:\... Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\OMSMAIN.DLL

      Outlook Backup Addin
      C:\...soft Office 2003\OFFICE11\ADDINS\outbak.dll

    Inactive Application Add-ins
      No Inactive Application Add-ins

    Disabled Application Add-ins
      No Disabled Application Add-ins

I love this product and would like to see it working in Outlook 2007. Any help would be appreciated...

Hi Robert,

Please make sure Microsoft Outlook is setup to be your default email client program. To do so, go to your Windows Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Programs tab -> select Microsoft Office Outlook for the e-mail client, then exit with Ok. Then try again launching Outlook and see if Bells & Whistles works fine.

Kind regards,
