Hello

I have just purchased Easy Mail Merge.

When I want to include the recipient's email address in the body of an email using the fields from a csv document, the email address is sometimes automatically shown as a hyperlink, sometimes not, and sometimes the hyperlink is partly shown eg mailto:admin@royalphilharmonicsociety.org.uk worse still - somethimes two part hyperlinks appear in one email address: eg mailto:mary.king1606@ntlworld.com .

The same problem appears when I select contacts from an outlook distribution list. There seems to be no reason why this happens. The addresses appear fine in the To: field of the email

Also - it would be nice to be able to send a test copy of the email before you send to the whole list - is this possible?

Thank you :?

Hi RPS,

In order to properly assist you, please advise on these items:
1. what Outlook version are you using?
2. do you format the mail merge email as plain text or as HTML?

About the test feature, you can use the Preview button to see the email content exactly as it will be generated in the outgoing emails.

Regards,
Bogdan

On Outlook 2003, did you set it up to use MS Word as an email editor? You can check this setting by going to your Outlook Tools menu -> Settings -> Mail Format: see if the option to use MS Word as the email editor is enabled or not. If it's enabled, please disable it, restart Outlook and try again with the mail merge.

No - I do not use MS word as the editor and I have experimented with both html and rich text settings - the problem is the same with both.

What if you preview the message from Easy Mail Merge? Does it look fine?

Is it possible to obtain at least a sample part of your CSV file, so we can test with it too? You can email it to us at mailto:support@emailaddressmanager.com. It would help us a lot to pinpoint the problem...

Thanks.

Hi R,

We have just released v2.0.125 of Easy Mail Merge which is supposed to fix the invalid email links generated with CSV imported fields. Please update Easy Mail Merge to this version. To do so, you can use the "Check for Updates" option located under the main Easy Mail Merge toolbar, or you can simply download the latest setup from our web site and install it over your existing Easy Mail Merge installation: http://www.emailaddressmanager.com/mail-merge.exe

Regards,
Bogdan
