The title says it all. When I start EAC I receive this error;

At: ShortcutPaneMSOutlook2.cpp (128)
-----

Description: Server execution failed
Error code: 0x80080005
Location: ShortcutPaneMSOutlook2.cpp (124)
-----

EAC then starts, but there is no access to Outlook folders.

Then, if I exit EAC I receive the error message;

"Instruction at 0x00ef0820 referenced memory at 0x8b55ffb7. The memory could not be read."

Anyone know how to resolve these problems ?

Hello,

We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.

Most likely, you were running Outlook and EAC with different rights assigned (one with administrator rights, the other only with "normal' ones). Please close both Outlook and EAC, then go to the task manager (ctrl+alt+del – processes) and check that EAC.exe and Outlook.exe aren’t running; then, just launch them again and everything should work correctly.

Sorry, this isn't the problem.

I have Administrator privileges
I uninstalled EAC
I set Outlook to run as Administrator
I re-booted
I installed EAC as Administrator
I re-booted
I started Outlook as Administrator
I started EAC as Administrator

Same problem; 'Failed to initialize Microsoft Outlook session'

Win 8, 64 Bit, Outlook 2013, 8Gb RAM, Latest EAC release.

Hello,

Please log on as an administrator, then open up a command prompt (windows key + R) and run the command

Regsvr32.exe c:\windows\System32\Ole32.dll

You can copy it from above, then right click in the command prompt window and choose paste.

Please inform us of your findings, we are looking forward to your reply. Once again, we're really sorry for the trouble.

Post subject:  Re: EAC Failing to access Outlook 2013 Win8 64 Bit

A dialog box appears titled "RegSvr32"

Content says; "DllRegisterServer in c:\windows\System32\Ole32.dll succeeded"

Note : The command was executed WITHOUT EAC being installed.

I then installed EAC and executed the same command.

The results were the same ..... succeeded.

Also, when installing EAC should Outlook be running(Open) ? .... I have tried to install EACH with Outlook open and closed, the results were the same.

What next ?

Hello,

It doesn't matter if Outlook is opened or not when installing EAC. Just please, launch Outlook first, wait for it to load completely and then launch EAC.

Does it work now?

Thank you very much for your patience, you're the first to actually take the time and describe what is happening. So, you're a great help to us, thank you kindly! :)

Post subject:  Re: EAC Failing to access Outlook 2013 Win8 64 Bit

Error code 0x80080005 is usually a sign of a Windows installation that is missing system files (or they are corrupted) or there is a malware program that prevents it from running properly.

Can you please try the following steps (they are actually copied from the Microsoft support center and they are meant to fix anti-rootkit malware problems that usually trigger error 0x80080005):
Action Plan:
1. Download the file TDSSKiller.zip from the following link and save it on the Desktop.
http://support.kaspersky.com/downloads/utils/tdsskiller.zip
2. Double click TDSSKiller.zip to unzip the file.
3. Double click TDSSKiller.exe to scan the system.
4. Wait for the scan and disinfection process to complete.

Restart the computer. If EAC still fails to run, proceed to step 2:
1. Click the "Start" and TypeCommand Prompt in the Search or Program files box
2. Right click on "CommandPrompt" and click on Run as Administrator.
3. Type "netsh winsock reset" (without quotes) at the command prompt, and press Enter.
4. Try to run EAC again.

If EAC still fails, then most likely the issue is caused by some missing or corrupted system files and NOT malware. Please let us know what anti-virus (or other security/protection applications) you are using... Can you also try to disable them and see if it makes any difference?

Again, thanks for your patience!

Post subject:  Re: EAC Failing to access Outlook 2013 Win8 64 Bit

TDSKiller reported NO problems.

I am running Kapersky 24/7 since buying the PC. A full scan reported no issues.

All Windows updates have been installed.

All Office updates have been installed.

I tried disabling AntiVirus and re-installing EAC, but EAC still fails to 'connect' with Outlook. The error message has changed slightly;

At: ShortcutPaneMSOutlook2.cpp (128)
-----

Description: Interface not registered
Error code: 0x80040155
Location: ShortcutPaneMSOutlook2.cpp (128)

"netsh winsock reset" made no difference.

I still have exactly the same issue. Everything else on my laptop is working 100% correctly with ZERO problems.

I just think that EAC is not work with Office 365/Outlook 2013 on Windows 8 64 Bit ?

Post subject:  Re: EAC Failing to access Outlook 2013 Win8 64 Bit

Just to make sure I get it right: do you use Office 365 OR Office Professional 2013? Office 365 is web based, it can not work with EAC. When we refer to Outlook 2013, we mean the Outlook version that is part of Office Pro (the desktop suite, not the web based apps). Office 365 doesn't offer the required programming connectivity to achieve the EAC functionality...

I have Microsoft Office 365 for Small Business Premium subscription. This allows downloading of all the latest Office 2013 desktop applications. I have downloaded and am using Outlook 2013 32-bit (15.0.4505.1510).

Ah, OK, I got it now. I was thinking you are using the web based / streamed versions of the Office applications.

Let us do a couple of tests and I will get back on this thread with a resolution. I apologize for this inconvenience!
